Fred had never excelled at much. He passed Charms, and charmed McGonagall, but he hadn't George's talent. Fred talked a lot, but it was George who acted. The snackboxes had been Fred's idea, and he liked to think he had the brains behind the operation, but it was George who put things together. It was Fred who thought, and George who did. Fred never had the confidence to do.

George had once explained, "Twins have at most ten points difference in IQ," but Fred had never quite believed he could match up to his twin. Excellence was for George alone.
