"Wait," said Harry. He scratched his cheek, and looked at Malfoy as if he'd grown a second head. "Wait," he repeated, and Malfoy looked back patiently. "Did you just congratulate me?"

"Why yes," Malfoy said, as if it was the most natural thing in the world, "in fact, I did." He looked extremely pleased with himself, and yet not quite all there. Much the way Harry must have looked, he supposed, because Malfoy said, "Catching flies?" and Harry abruptly shut his mouth.

"Catching something, anyway," Malfoy continued, but Harry didn't think he was supposed to hear, because Malfoy walked away.
